My painting practice uses abstraction and mixed media to map the internal experience of trudging through contemporary anxiety. This work explores what happens when I stop trying to steer the outcome.
Seeking Joy is what happened when I let the alcohol ink run and refused to keep chasing it back into line. Jutting from a purple base, chartreuse, lemon, and golden hues climb the canvas in long, dripping columns — I'd tilt it, watch the paint find its own gravity, and tilt it again. Joy isn't a straight line here.
